Virtual Training: Intellectual Property in Arts & Culture - Accession to the Berne Convention

Abacus IP will be participating in an online training on IP in Arts and Culture, co-hosted by the South-East Asia IP Helpdesk and the European Chamber Commerce of Cambodia.

From the South-East Asia IP Helpdesk:

Building on a tradition of centuries filled with rich and world-famous cultural heritage, Cambodia is a country in full artistic and cultural development. With its booming arts and culture scene, the issue of protection of intellectual property rights in Cambodia is of paramount importance.

One of the latest additions to the arsenal of intellectual property protection in Cambodia is the Berne Convention for Literary and Artistic Works, which entered into force for Cambodia on 9 March 2022.

The Berne Convention sets out the basic principles that signatory states must guarantee in their copyright policies and legislation. It applies to “every production in the literary, scientific and artistic domain, whatever the mode or form of its expression". It provides creators such as authors, musicians, poets, painters etc. with the means to control how their works are used, by whom, and on what terms.

Learn more about this important new tool and what it means for Cambodia’s arts and culture scene in this exciting webinar, co-organised with the South-East Asia IP SME Helpdesk.

The Training takes place on May 17, 2022 at 3pm Cambodia time. Registration is free and available here:
